Los Angeles, CA - The entertainment world mourns the loss of esteemed actor Kamar De Los Reyes, who succumbed to a brief but fierce battle with cancer on Christmas Eve.

The 56-year-old artist left behind a legacy marked by his versatile talents and dedication to his craft.

De Los Reyes, survived by his wife Sherri Saum, tied the knot with his co-star in 2007, a union that brought forth nine-year-old twins, John and Michael.

The actor also leaves behind a 26-year-old son, Caylen, from a previous relationship. His untimely departure leaves a void in the hearts of his parents, Matilde and Walfredo, and his four siblings—brothers Daniel and Walfredo Jr., and sisters Lily and Ilde.

A prominent figure in the world of television, De Los Reyes graced our screens with memorable roles in recent years, including appearances in "Sleepy Hollow," "The Rookie," and "All American."

He also lent his talents to the gaming community as the villainous Menendez in several Call of Duty video games. However, his most enduring role was as cop Antonio Vega on the ABC soap opera "One Life to Live," spanning from 1995 to 1998 and then from 2000 to 2013.

Even in his final days, De Los Reyes continued to contribute to the entertainment industry, filming episodes for The CW's "All American," where he portrayed Coastal California University's Coach Montes. Nkechi Okoro Carroll, the showrunner, paid tribute to the late actor, expressing deep sadness at the loss and praising his positive impact on set.

"We are absolutely devastated at the loss of Kamar. He was such a beloved member of our All American family. He brought so much love, light, and joy to the set every day, even during his final days.

Our hearts and sincere condolences are with Sherri, Caylen, Michael, John, and the rest of Kamar’s family. He truly was a gift. One we will cherish forever," Carroll said in a statement to Deadline.

While De Los Reyes' departure is undoubtedly a loss to the industry, fans can look forward to posthumous releases of his work, including the sixth season of "All American," the upcoming Hulu drama "Washington Black," and his role in the highly anticipated Disney+ series "Daredevil: Born Again."

As the world grieves, Sherri Saum, an actress known for her role in "The Fosters" and De Los Reyes' wife of 16 years, has yet to make a public statement about her husband's passing. In a 2018 podcast appearance, she expressed her admiration for him, not just as a talented actor but as a devoted father and partner.

"I'm a sucker for a guy that takes care of himself and looks good and all of that, but he’s just such a good person," Saum shared. "He’s so committed and consistent and he shows up for you. He’s just the real deal."

Born on November 8, 1967, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, to Cuban percussionist Walfredo De Los Reyes and Puerto Rican mother Matilde Pages, Kamar De Los Reyes grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada. His siblings include Walfredo Reyes Jr., a percussionist for the band Chicago, and Daniel De Los Reyes, a former Yanni and current Zac Brown Band percussionist.

His diverse career included appearances in films such as Oliver Stone's "Nixon" and a notable role as the antagonist Raul Menendez in the 2012 video game "Call of Duty: Black Ops II."
