Tia Mowry, 46, has found a meaningful way to repurpose her wedding ring after her divorce from Cory Hardrict. During an episode of her show Tia Mowry: My Next Act on We TV, Mowry shared that she plans to turn her wedding band into jewelry for her children. "I haven't worn it for almost two years, and it doesn’t feel right to sell it. But I want to pass it down to my kids, because they have been my biggest gift," she said.

Mowry and Hardrict finalized their divorce in April 2023 after 14 years of marriage. The two met on a movie set in 1999 and married in 2008. They share two children: Cree, 13, and Cairo, 6. Mowry explained her decision to transform the ring, saying, "It's sad because it's a symbol of a marriage that’s no longer, but making it into something for my kids gives it new meaning."

Later in the episode, Mowry visits a jeweler to have the ring turned into a necklace for her son and a bracelet for her daughter. Reflecting on the process, she said, "I think it’s beautiful to turn something given out of love into a gift for my children. It makes me feel like my marriage wasn’t a waste."

Mowry met actor Cory Hardrict on the set of their film, Hollywood Horror. The two dated for six years, then got engaged on Christmas Day 2006. They married in California on April 20, 2008.On January 11, 2011,the couple announced that they were expecting their first child; Mowry made the announcement herself on 106 & Park.

The pregnancy was documented on the show Tia & Tamera featuring her sister, Tamera Mowry, on the Style Network. She gave birth to a son in 2011. On November 8, 2017, Mowry announced that she was pregnant with her second child, a girl.Their daughter was born in 2018.

On October 4, 2022, Mowry announced via her Instagram account that she and Hardrict were separating after 14 years of marriage due to irreconcilable differences. In April 2023, Mowry and Hardrict finalized their divorce after 15 years of marriage.

In the series, Mowry also opens up about her life post-divorce and the challenges of single motherhood. The Sister, Sister star revealed that she is slowly discovering who she is, saying, "I've never been alone in my life, and this is the first time I’m realizing I have a choice to be happy."
