Regé-Jean Page is a  is an English actor born in United Kingdom, he’s well known for his roles in television series and movies. He was born on  April 27th 1988.


Before becoming famous for his part in the Netflix show "Bridgerton," he appeared in other TV series like "Waterloo Road" in 2015, "Roots" in 2016, and "For the People" from 2018 to 2019. He also acted in movies like "The Gray Man" in 2022 and "Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves" in 2023, both available on Netflix.


Early Life and Education:


Regé-Jean Page's father was an English preacher, and his mother was a nurse from Zimbabwe. He has a brother named Tose Page, and they used to be in a band together. Regé-Jean spent his early years in his mother's hometown, Harare, and then returned to London for secondary school.


 It was in London that he first discovered his interest in acting as a hobby. He also learned about sound engineering at the National Youth Theatre. After two years of auditioning for acting roles, he eventually enrolled at Drama Centre London to further his acting skills.


Career:


Regé-Jean Page's acting journey began in 2001 when he played a character named Tanaka in the TV series "Gimme 6." He later made guest appearances in other British TV shows like "Casualty@Holby City" in 2005, "Fresh Meat" in 2013, and a return to "Waterloo Road" in 2015. He also took on stage roles in theater productions like "The History Boys" in 2013 and "The Merchant of Venice" in 2015.


In 2016, he made his American television debut by playing Chicken George in the History Channel's miniseries "Roots," which is a retelling of a famous story about an American family's history. In the same year, he filmed an unaired pilot episode for a show called "Spark" on ABC.


In 2017, he landed a supporting role in the legal drama series "For the People," which was produced by Shondaland and ran for two seasons until it was canceled by ABC in 2019. On the big screen, he had minor roles in films like "Mortal Engines" in 2018 and "Sylvie's Love" in 2020.


Page's breakthrough came in 2020 when he was cast as one of the leads in the Netflix series "Bridgerton." This Regency-era drama, based on a romance novel, received critical acclaim, and Page won an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series for his role. Time magazine also recognized him as one of their "100 Next" in 2021.


He was even nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award. However, he decided not to return for the show's second season, despite being offered, as he initially signed on for just one series and wanted to explore other acting opportunities.


In 2022, Page appeared in the Netflix movie "The Gray Man," which received mixed reviews from critics. He also became the face of Armani Code that year. He played a character in the fantasy film "Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves," released in 2023.


 


Personal Life:


Regé-Jean Page has been in a relationship with Emily Brown since 2019. While they've kept their romance fairly private, they have been spotted together at various events, including the GQ Men of the Year Awards in September 2021 and the Venice International Film Festival in August 2023.
