Roberto Firmino Celebrates New Chapter with Al Sadd SC
27th Jul 2025 | category: Sports | Hits: 129Former Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino has officially signed with Qatari side Al Sadd SC, marking an exciting new chapter in his illustrious football career. The Brazilian striker has joined the reigning champions of the Qatar Stars League on a two-year contract running until 2027.
In a message shared on his social media accounts, Firmino expressed his excitement and optimism about the move:
“I’m very happy with this new chapter in my life, and also very motivated and confident for the new season. Thank you for the warm welcome. Let’s go together! @alsaddsc”

Firmino arrives at Al Sadd following a successful two-season spell with Al-Ahli Jeddah in Saudi Arabia, where he transferred in July 2023 on a free move from Liverpool. During his time at Al-Ahli, Firmino made 65 appearances, scored 21 goals, and contributed numerous assists.
His most notable achievement came in 2025, when he led Al-Ahli to victory in the AFC Champions League Elite. He was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player after scoring six goals in 12 matches and assisting both goals in the final against Kawasaki Frontale.
Despite his success, Firmino's departure from Al-Ahli was expected after the club opted not to register him for domestic league competition due to foreign-player restrictions. He remained eligible for continental matches but ultimately chose to pursue a new challenge.

Firmino brings his trademark flair, creativity, and experience to Al Sadd, a club aiming to reclaim its domestic dominance and contend for another Asian Champions League Elite title. His arrival has been met with enthusiasm from fans, who eagerly await his debut and the impact he will make this season.
After a highly successful stint in Europe—including a trophy-laden period at Liverpool where he won the Premier League and UEFA Champions League—Firmino's move to Qatar signals a fresh opportunity to shine on a new stage.
