Burkinabe footballer Stephane Aziz Ki, a star midfielder for Tanzania Premier League club Young Africans SC, has officially tied the knot with Hamisa Mobetto, the renowned Tanzanian singer, actress, and businesswoman.

The Nikah ceremony took place on Sunday, February 16, at Nnuur Mosque in Mbweni, Dar es Salaam, with the Grand Sheikh of Dar es Salaam, Sheikh Walid Alhad Omar, presiding over the sacred union. The event was an elegant yet intimate affair, attended by close family, friends, and esteemed Islamic clerics.

Dressed in Arabic-inspired aqua green attire, the couple exchanged vows in a setting that exuded spiritual significance and deep cultural heritage.

The wedding festivities are far from over, as the newlyweds prepare for a grand reception on February 19 at Superdome Masaki, a lavish 2,500-capacity venue in Dar es Salaam. The glamorous affair promises an exclusive guest list featuring prominent personalities from the entertainment, sports, and business worlds.

In keeping with cultural traditions, Aziz Ki formally honored his bride’s family by fulfilling the Mahari (dowry) ceremony on February 15. As a sign of respect and commitment, he presented 30 cows and Sh30 million as bride price.

In a unique twist, instead of being accompanied by his family, Aziz Ki attended the ceremony with his Young Africans SC teammates.

However, the news of the wedding caught some by surprise including Aziz Ki’s mother, Anata Ki, who revealed in an interview that she first learned about her son’s marriage through social media.

“I was informed for the first time through social networks, and I congratulated my son despite everything. Then he decided to inform me. But I was on a duty mission in Dakar and I left yesterday,” she said.

Speculation about Aziz Ki and Hamisa’s romance began circulating after the couple was spotted on a luxurious vacation in Dubai. Their relationship soon became a topic of fascination among fans and media alike.

Hamisa’s mother, Shufaa Rutiginga, shared her thoughts during an interview revealing that she had prayed for her daughter to find a good partner. According to her, Aziz Ki is an answer to those prayers, describing him as humble, respectful, and deeply family-oriented.

At 30 years old, Hamisa Mobetto is a successful entrepreneur, socialite, and influencer. She is also a devoted mother of two a daughter with EFM Director Francis Majizo and a son, Dylan Nasseb, with Tanzanian music sensation Diamond Platnumz.

Meanwhile, Stephane Aziz Ki, 29, who was born in Ivory Coast and is of Burkinabé descent, has been a key figure in Burkina Faso’s national football team since his debut in 2017. He is also a proud father of one daughter.
