Cardi first announced her pregnancy on August 1, hours after filing for divorce from Offset. She posted a picture of her baby bump in a red gown, saying, "With every ending comes a new beginning! You’ve brought me more love, more life, and most of all, renewed my power."

In her divorce filing, Cardi asked for primary custody of their children and child support. She cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for their split, stating there was "no chance of getting back together."

Cardi and Offset have had a rocky relationship since getting married in 2017. They first split in 2018 after rumors of Offset cheating. They got back together in 2019 but separated again in 2020. Cardi filed for divorce but later changed her mind, and they reunited.

By 2023, they had broken up again, and Cardi admitted on Instagram Live that she had been single for a while but was hesitant to share the news. She expressed her desire for a "fresh start" in 2024, saying she was ready for a new chapter in her life.

Despite their ups and downs, Cardi has always emphasized the close bond she shares with Offset. She described him as her best friend and biggest supporter, someone who lifted her up and never made her feel small.
