Marie Avgeropoulos, is a Canadian actress and model of Greek descent born on June 17, 1986, in Thunder Bay, Ontario,. She is best known for her portrayal of Octavia Blake in The CW's post-apocalyptic science fiction television series The 100, which aired from 2014 to 2020.

Avgeropoulos was raised in Thunder Bay, where she developed a love for the outdoors, spending much of her free time fishing, hunting, and camping. At the age of 16, she began playing the drums, a skill that would later contribute to her acting career. After completing two years of study in broadcast journalism in her hometown, she decided to explore Europe. However, she soon returned to Canada, settling in Vancouver.

At the age of 20, Avgeropoulos underwent surgery to remove a large tumor from her chest and throat. The complex procedure involved removing and reattaching her vocal cords, which subsequently affected her voice.

Avgeropoulos's entry into the entertainment industry was somewhat serendipitous. A friend invited her to a casting call in Vancouver that was specifically looking for drummers. Her drumming skills caught the attention of a talent agent, leading to appearances in several national commercials.

Her big break came when director Chris Columbus noticed her talent and cast her in her first feature film, I Love You, Beth Cooper (2009). This role opened the door to further opportunities in both film and television.

In 2010, she landed a role as Kim Rhodes in the action film Hunt to Kill, which became her breakout performance. Her television career began to take off in 2013 when she was cast in a recurring role in The CW's series Cult. Unfortunately, the show was canceled after just seven episodes due to low viewership, although the remaining episodes were aired later that summer.

Despite the setback, Avgeropoulos quickly rebounded. She was cast as Octavia Blake, one of the main characters in The CW's new sci-fi series The 100. The show became a hit, running for seven seasons and solidifying her place in the industry.

Marie Avgeropoulos was in a relationship with Twilight star Taylor Lautner in 2014 but they separated in 2015.

The duo was often seen very happy on streets of LA having a great time together. Lautner and Avgeropoulos met in 2013 summer on the set of the parkour action flick Tracers and were first snapped holding hands in New York City's SoHo district on July 29.

In August 2018, Avgeropoulos was involved in a domestic violence incident with her boyfriend, whose name was kept private. The two were reportedly arguing in a car on the Ventura Freeway when Avgeropoulos, who was on new medication mixed with alcohol, allegedly struck him multiple times. The incident resulted in minor injuries, and she was subsequently charged with domestic violence.

However, her boyfriend requested that the charges be dropped, asserting that Avgeropoulos did not pose a threat and that the incident was due to an adverse reaction to her medication. The case was eventually dismissed, with all charges dropped, as it was determined there was no intent to harm on her part.
