TikTok star Beandri Booysen, known for her inspirational social media videos, has died weeks after celebrating her 19th birthday.

Born on November 20th 2005, in Pretoria, South Africa, Beandri Booysen suffered from an extremely rare incurable disease that saw her age eight years for every one year of her short life.

Beandri was not expected to live past the age of 14 but refused to give up an became an internet sensation with hundreds of followers.

Beandri was born with the genetic mutation Hutchinson-Gilford progeria syndrome a rare genetic condition that causes children to age prematurely.

Only one in 4 million babies are born with the incurable defect and Beandri was among the 200 known affected in the world and the last in South Africa to die from the condition, a year after her close friend also a sufferer Ontlametse Phalatse died at age 18 .

Beandri was well known for her vibrant personality and infectious laugh, She became a symbol of awareness for Progeria and other special needs children using her unique spirit to inspire thousands of people worldwide. She never stopped fighting. She was also the last surviving person in South Africa to live with Progeria.

"Despite the challenges she had to deal with, Beandri radiated hope and joy of life. She was a voice and a symbol of awareness for Progeria and other special needs, and inspired thousands with her unique spirit." Bea said.

Beandri has over 278,000 followers on TikTok and was regularly praised for her heartwarming videos, which have been watched hundreds of thousands of times.

The sad news comes after Bea revealed on Facebook that her daughter would be undergoing heart surgery on Oct. 8, thanking fans for their prayers and support. After keeping fans updated on Beandri's recovery, she revealed on Wednesday that her heart had stopped.
