Authorities in Switzerland report that Kristina Joksimovic, 38, a former contestant in the 2007 Miss Switzerland pageant, was allegedly killed by her 41-year-old husband, who then used a blender to dispose of her remains.

Joksimovic was killed in February in Binningen, a town near Basel. Police from the Basel-Landschaft area confirmed the suspected murder in an official statement. Although police did not initially name the victim, local reports, including those from The Telegraph and BBC, revealed her identity based on medical records. She was also identified by Swiss media outlet 20min, which described her as a finalist in the 2007 Miss Switzerland competition.

Her husband, identified only as "Thomas" by local media, had initially told police that he discovered Joksimovic’s body at the bottom of the stairs and panicked. According to reports from 20min and bzbasel, during a court hearing, he allegedly admitted to dismembering her after finding her dead.

In March, however, authorities say Thomas confessed to killing his wife, according to a report from Switzerland's Federal Court. He appealed for his release from custody, but on Wednesday, the country’s federal court in Lausanne rejected his appeal, as he had already admitted to the crime.

Local media, including 20min, FM1 Today, and bzbasel, reported that an autopsy revealed disturbing details. It suggested that after allegedly strangling Joksimovic, her husband dismembered her body using a jigsaw and garden shears. He then put her remains in a blender and dissolved them with chemicals. These findings did not align with his earlier claim of self-defense.

Joksimovic and her husband had two children, who were taken into care immediately after the incident. The husband remains in custody, and although he has appealed for release, formal charges have not yet been filed

Authorities are continuing their investigation into the case.
