Adele Announces Extended Break From Music After Las Vegas Residency

After three years of captivating audiences worldwide, Adele has announced that she will take an extended break from music and performing following the conclusion of her Las Vegas residency end

The 36-year-old superstar shared the news during an emotional moment on stage at her concert in Munich, Germany, on August 31. Addressing the crowd, Adele revealed her plans to step away from the spotlight after her final Vegas shows, signaling a significant pause in her illustrious career.

"I've really enjoyed performing," the "Easy on Me" singer confessed in a candid moment captured on TikTok. "It's been three years now, which is the longest I've done and probably the longest I'll ever do."

Adele, who has endured a grueling schedule and battled illness during her residency, emphasized that she only has 10 shows left before she takes a much-needed rest. The fifteen-time Grammy winner expressed deep gratitude to her fans, saying, "But after that, I will not see you for an incredibly long time, and I will hold you dear in my heart for that whole length of my break."

With palpable emotion, Adele acknowledged the importance of this break in her life, adding that she will "fantasize" about her time on stage during her time off. "I just need a rest," she admitted, hinting at the toll her demanding schedule has taken.

During her time away from the stage, Adele intends to focus on the life she has been building for herself over the past seven years. "I want to live my life that I've been building, and I will miss you terribly," she told the audience, her voice tinged with both excitement and melancholy.

Adele's reference to her personal life likely alludes to her relationship with fiancé Rich Paul. The "Rolling in the Deep" singer recently confirmed their engagement during another Munich concert earlier this month. The couple, who went public with their romance in 2021, has been the subject of much media attention, and Adele's recent remarks suggest that she is eager to enjoy this new chapter in her life.

In a heartwarming exchange captured on social media on August 9, Adele responded to a fan's marriage proposal by playfully stating, "I can't marry you because I'm already getting married," while showing off her engagement ring to the crowd.

As Adele prepares to step away from the limelight, fans are left with the bittersweet anticipation of her return. Though her future plans remain uncertain, Adele has previously expressed a desire to expand her family. "I definitely would like a couple more kids," she shared in a 2022 interview with BBC Radio 4's Desert Island Discs. "It would be wonderful. If not, I've got Angelo."

With her son Angelo and fiancé Rich Paul by her side, Adele is ready to embrace this new chapter of her life, even as she bids a temporary farewell to the stage.
